Julia Kay Jamieson - harpist, composer, teacher
From the start, playing the harp can be a rewarding experience. It is a great instrument for any age beginner with or without previous music experience. Harps come in many sizes and the styles of music that can be played are limitless.
Typically lessons are taught from my home studio in Champaign though depending on the student’s need, I may be able to travel to the student’s home or teach via Skype.
See "Lessons From a Distance" in the July/August 2012 issue of Harp Column by Lynne Abbey-Lee.

Teaching Philosophy Statement

I have the exciting role as a facilitator and teacher of guiding students to meet their individual goals and realize their full potential as musicians. While encouraging students to develop strong, fluent technique, good tone quality, and a growing understanding of music, I value and recognize each student's creativity, expression, and individuality. I strive to be generous with knowledge, patience and encouragement. Each lesson is approached with enthusiasm and intensity. Success is measured by the students discoveries, progress, pleasure in playing, and expanding life with their instruments.
